Dear Smirk Studios Fans:

well, i am about one fifth (1/5) done with the rough story board draft animation, and i must say, this is going to be great. there is nothing special about it just yet, as it is only a rough draft and only VERY BASIC, but man this is a lot of fun. i'm getting to know flash MX (6) really well, and so now everything comes to me really quick. plus, everytime i do this, i get better at scripting also, so this cartoon is going to be much more likely to make you laugh.

another cool thing is that i've been talking with sirjeffofshort, a reputable animator, about doing the voices for my cartoon. altho the script is not very long (only a couple scenes of reasonbley heavy dialog), this means a lot to me, because the quality of the toon a lot of times depends on the quality of the recording and sound quality. and beyond that, i have lots of sound effects (like 300) that i will be messing around with. this will definately put me on the newgrounds map, and this is only the begining.

here is a screen shot for you. it's nothing special, but i'm sure you will appreciate it anyways. it comes from a scene in which the character is looking forward to the next day where he plots to stop the mailman from delivering his report card to his house. there are many pics like this in which his expression does not change as he finishes the remainder of the day and wakes in the morning. kinda like dexters lab when deedee stops being around and he is happily doing everything in different settings with the same pic of his head not moving lol. kinda like a montage, also. the effect of this scene is very necessary for you to get to know this character, so here it is. remember to check my website for the pic of both characters in color. until next time, fans!!!

the pilot for my new series has been written, and it's only a matter of time before i'm uploading screen shots from it. how exciting!!! it is a mix between Tom and Jerry and the Wile E Coyote/Road Runner cartoon humor, mixed in with lots of my original ideas as well as some classic cartoon jokes. here is a concept pic i did to celebrate my story board's finish.

also, as another unrelated note, i tied for FIRST PLACE for my OLA Contest Submissin toon. thanks for the votes everyone, and i am now 2600 dollars richer :P (lol it's already spent with all my bills i just missed this month, and i have to split with my mom lol)!!! thanks you guys for the support, and this is a big start for my animating career. look forward to MUCH BETTER QUALITY TOONS from SmirkStudios.COM!!!

Dear Smirk Studios Fans,

i am proud to announce that this week i will be starting work on a new project. this is a project i've been gathering ideas for over the years, and since my Merry Ricksmas 2 hit, i've been a lot more serious about doing something about these ideas.

Teen Pijinz will be a series of shorts that are going to show my respect for Chuck Jones, Kenneth Muse, and several other animators that did Tom and Jerry. it will be the same humor, but much different scenarios based on 2 high school going birds. Phil is a too cool for school parrot, and Rejie is a nerd/loser pigeon with a sinical attitude towards life. my current plans are to have little to no voice overs, while showing a huge array of sound effects and musical progression on the scenes and movements of characters and things.

this should prove to be a huge deal, and it should take a little while to make the pilot episode, but for good reason, and you will love it i'm sure. i'll let you guys in on all the updates i can, but first i gotta put together a good story board. let me know if you have ideas or anything like that.

thank you to everyone who voted. if it werent for you guys, i couldnt have the score i got. at a strong 3.85, i am glad to say that despite the few things missing from my cartoon, it is now officially my hardest work and best rated.

i am sorry to announce that the menace movie is once again being post poned. i got so much enough positive and negative feedback to know what is wrong with my style, and the stuff i have done on the menace movie is going to have to be redone to show that i have taken you, the fans', advice. all you top scoring award winning animators who have been there to answer my questions have been very helpful, and moreso inspiring. i have many new ideas to achieve the energy and effects that i wish to produce, and now i have to practice practice practice to perfect my skills.

before redoing the movie, i will be coming out with various short toons to keep you satisfied and me practicing. they will be in essence very similar to the Jake N Josh EP 1, but with much improvement as far as animation, writing, and voice overs. things are about to change at smirk studios for the better. in other words, instead of having a site with p!x0rz, it will be a site with p!x0rz, t00nz, muz!c, and more!!! hopefully i will find a way to better fund my contests and such, that you may be back for more!!!

Dear Smirk Studios Fans,

the movie is almost done. i am still on schedule for release tomorrow around noon or so Arizona time. i am on the second to last scene which consists of over 500 frames, and the last scene only has just over 100 frames, so this should be done tonight for sure. i am so excited, are you?

here is a pic i just spent like 40 minutes on alone!!! i dont know why it took me so long, but it turned out GREAT, so whatever! in this pic we see Iced Earth for the first time before we even get to know it is Iced Earth, and if you see at the top there, Rick is peeking down from above!! the suprise ending is right around here somewhere, so i'm sure your imagination is running wild!!!

this is the last update until i release the movie, so hang in there!!! if you see another update, it will be to tell you the deadline is extending, but i entirely doubt that will happen at this point. i will put all my efforts in completing this tonight, and tomorrow morning i will review it and work out all the kinks and such, so get ready!!! seeya tomorrow, fans!

i did another scene of the high dialog parts, and i will still have to color it. plus it looks a little choppy, so i'm gonna do some repair work. this scene happens to have many movements and actions, and most likely is the heaviest scene in the cartoon. i'll be glad when it's done, because it will be all downhill from here!!! also, it is the scene of climax in the plot and everything, so it literally will be downhill from here.

i am not going to upload a shot from this scene, but here is a pic from earlier that is finished for the final product i think. i uploaded this pic before, but now there are shadows on the background, and it looks much more pro. compare and contrast!!!

I just won my first award for my animating!!! i won 1 hundred dollars for my OLA Contest Entry, which means it was the best submission in November, but there's more. there is a dispute over who is the best for the 5,000 dollar prize for the year, and i can't take the suspense!!! keep your fingers crossed, everybody!!! make sure you go to youtube and vote also :D because that is how the winner is determined!!!

ok, i got scene 9 done w/out backgrounds. the frame by frame was hard in this scene because i didnt realize i was missing so much. it looks really good now, and the pic i have for you today is from it. this is Turaq Grinchladen and Rick when they finally meet face to face. the object in the background is the sleigh that rick is using named the loner.

also, i went back over a few of the first scenes and added some things that were missing as well, and it is much better now. it actually is coming together like a cartoon should!!! it is still a little choppy tho, so when i am all done, i will be taking out the extra lines and smoothing everything out just right.

i completed scene 8 with no backgrounds yet, and it is the first of 5 heavy dialog scenes. these will take some heavy duty work, so hang in there!!! plus after i'm done with that, i will go back for the backgrounds, and also the moving mouths are the last step. as soon as you see a more complete pic of iced earth in my post, you will know that i'm on the last scene, and that it's almost time!!!

as of right now, i might be extending the deadline 1 full day to check for bugs and what not. i also am doing that because i might finish at like 1 oclock wednesday morning lol :D so i will want to upload it at a more reasonable time, you know? here is a clip to keep you waiting. this is a grinch rip off scene in which Turaq Grinchladen (i changed his name from osama to turaq) is sewing together a santa suit. enjoy!!!
