ok, i have another 4 scenes done, plus i threw together some backgrounds for them. here is a shot from scene 2 where rick takes the letter of mystery to santa for questions. enjoy, and the movie should be submitted by monday or tuesday. keep an eye out!!!!

i have the first 3 scenes finalized with exception of backgrounds.

your comments on my last post were awesome, tho few they were. great job with the guesses!! this helps me to know that my drawing of the Iced Earth singer look like who it is supposed to. thanks for the support, guys!!!

here is a full color pic of rick looking down at a mysterious letter that has blown in from the cold :P these are the actual colors, and soon there will be a background and shading. the movie is estimated to be complete on monday or tuesday. i will release it the day following, allowing time for review to make sure everything is smoothe and in order. thanks for tuning in, fans!!!

ok, i have finished the voice overs, all done by me for now. soon i will have other people help, but for this particular submission, i want it to be 100% me. here is a list of stats and updates for your better knowledge.

here is a list of what i will be doing to it in the next couple days before submitting.

finish all frame by frame work (currently not done at all, GASP!!!)

Add backgrounds

detail shade and color

add a preloader

add the credits and the song to be played during the credits

and that's it!!! exciting huh? ok now for the teaser. on my last post i told you you should guess who the metal band i'm featuring in my cartoon (not the real band, just drawings and voice immitations)

well i've come up with the appropriate hints, so if you can, please leave a comment with your guess on who the band might be.

HINTS:

1 - the rythm guitarist writes the songs and is the only original member, and he has blond hair and a goatee thing

2 - they covered a kiss song

3 - they often write songs about the civil war and stuff like that

3 - their new CD for 2008 has much talk of the downfall of man and how jesus came to be the leader of the begining of the end

4 - one of their CD's has a picture of Spawn on the front

here's a hint... the band prides themselves on the rythm guitarist who is blonde and writes all the songs. also, they have been around since at least '95, and cover bands like kiss sometimes. happy guessing!!!

here is another screenshot from the work i did today on the movie. again, the detail is not there yet, and i haven't gone perfectinist yet. i'm in the middle of the climax, so after this it should be all downhill from there. it may take another week to get this thing done, which is not a bad thing. the more time i take to do this, the better, and the quality of the finished product will as a result be much more appreciatable :P

so here it is, the screenshot from today's work. i colored it just for this pic, so dont get upset if it doesnt look the greatest. keep tuning back!!!

here is another pic from the rough draft that i colored just for this post. it will not be those exact colors when it is finished, but it gives you an idea of what the character is like and what he is doing. you can't exactly tell anything about the story in this, but you can definately get a feel for my style in the picture.

that's all for now, but i am doing some recording with fruity loops and my guitar, so keep an eye out, i'll be uploading in the audio portal soon enough, and when i do, my website will have links to the pages also. just keep your eyes peeled!!!

Hey Smirk Studios Fans!!!

not much different than the last post, just letting you know that i'm working daily on the christmas special still. i dont want you guys to think i'm slackin if i dont post a new screenshot everyday!!!

the storyboard animation is coming up to the climax, which means it's only a matter of time before i can start the frame by frame detail and colors!!! this screen shot has no color, and will be severely edited before making the final cut, so dont stress on the quality!!!

here it is, this is the character "Osama Grinchladen" making a cliche joke after a grinch parody scene. ENJOY, and KEEP TUNING IN FOR UPDATES!!!

ok, i'm still truckin on my Christmas Special this year. i'm movin quite slow, but i've got a few more scenes storyboarded up. like i said, i have it all written what's gonna happen, i'm just putting it into flash, and as soon as i'm done with the storyboard, i will do all the in between work that IS animation.

then also i will do the sounds, backgrounds and remaining details such as color and shading and various other professional methods of artist perfection and detail. here's yet another snap from the FLA file! keep tooning in until it's complete!

Merry Ricksmas 2 is going according to plan, and i'm also getting the hang of this animating thing!!! i'm not sure, but i think i might win a daily trophy for this one... dont get your hopes up, i'm not. just i think it is at least worthy, and that's what matters!

I have about 3 scenes complete, some with color and somewithout. that is about 1/3 of the movie, so i'm definately on schedule to release it next week. Here's another pic to keep you drooling!!!

I've started my project on "Merry Ricksmas 2" today, and it's coming along fine! the story is all written, it's just a matter of getting it done now :P here's a finished pic to tease you while you wait!!!
